Johnny Chung Lee has created a way to make a smartboard with a Wiimote. He explains how to do it and gives you the software that you need on his blog. I'd like to see it on the show to see if it is practical.

30 MPH on sidewalks is Bad. You're going to run into pedestrians, cars turning into driveways that aren't looking for fast movers, and then there's the matter of staying on the thing.

Adding an electric motor to a bike would be a neat project though. You're supposed to ride on the road and I don't think they've set speed limits on them yet. Too bad Stokemonkey's aren't back on the market yet. Maybe they'd send one to Rev3?

I see Makezine did an Alt Vehicles issue.

I'd love to see what Patrick would build for a battlebot.

That would be cool to see him strip down a electric scooter and make some monsterous battlebot.

Given the recently diminishing amount of project-related shows on Systm, and that it's got to be hard on Patrick to be pretty much soloing the show since Dave left (the show, plus the new kid and everything else going on in his personal life), and that there seems to be an abundance of crafty people (DIYers) in the SanFran area (as we see from MakerFaire every year), I was wondering how this idea would float:

Find local people who build things, or have built things that would be in the vein of Systm topics, and interview them in their "workshop", while showing whatever it was they made. Something like the combat robot episode (#40), maybe.

If Systm is interviewing the original builder of the project, they could get into a lot of detail as to how and why things were done, and certain decisions made, because who's going to know about (and talk about) the project more than its original builder?

Probably best to keep it fairly local (SanFran and neighboring Cali areas), to keep transportation hassles and such to a minimum.

Judging by the forums, people seem to want projects (I'm no exception, there), and one guy, no matter how talented he is, just can't do it all on his own. I've been down that road. Trying to keep everybody happy, keeping quality high, while coming up with a continuous stream of new and innovative material... It's a nightmare.

I know this isn't a completely new concept, but I haven't seen it applied to this sort of topic yet. Kind of like a Hack A Day, but with more detail, and in video.

My favorite episode so far, was the Mame cabinet series.

I wasn't all electronics, it was more of a bit of everything.

They need to do more ideas like that. The potato/tennis ball shooter was a good departure from the strictly electronic at heart.

t3h br0ken was similar, in that they had electronics, making a door bust-down tool (I forget what that thing is called), and then there was the MythTV setup guide. I felt that it was really interesting when they covered a variety of things.

Systm now is doing the same types of thing, just that ... I don't know, it seems different. When Systm did the MAME cabinet... it was meant to be a long series because of all the different aspects of making a cabinet. It fits perfectly.

I think the problem is, when they try to say "we're going to do this for this weeks show." and try to jam a huge project into 45min. - Ads.

Honestly, I watch every single episode of Systm, including ads, and I wait for the time when they're going to start making episodes that are 2 parters just to cover the detail needed.

It's great to do shows in parts when there are a lot of very important details that need to be addressed. You wouldn't throw a guy into an electronic wiring system without knowing important things like not electrocuting him/herself right?

I dunno... It's still a great show, though some episodes are not my style, but maybe they're someone else's. That's the great thing about the internet, different opinions.

I say keep going, I hope that a team is gathered to produce quality shows, maybe 3-4 people as was suggested. Give others time to "work" and breathing room. There's no point in having 1/4 of your shows Solo shows because one person is sick from exhaustion.

I like the episode as the topic hits close to home. I dont like to drive at night as it gets hard to see being dazzled by headlights and the loss of contrast.

On a future episode of Systm or Tekzilla I would like to have a comparison of
vision enhancement systems. I believe Lexus and some other car companies has built their own systems. There are other companies with IR cameras but they may go more for military jobs.

These are government paid ads so I dont think they can edit them short or change the format. I hope they pay well. I would like the ads more if they were tailored to my taste and especially if they are useful. I like Go Daddy but I am not building a website. If Amazon had an ad with a discount code that would be cool.

Might be overly simple for a lot of viewers but I think it would be a nice simple project for the show.
